Xiang Zhiqing tea comes from Tongxinghao in Yiwu. Pu'er tea was introduced to the Central Plains in the Ming Dynasty. "Pu'er tea is steamed into balls and sold in the West" is recorded in "Physical Knowledge". Pu'er tea was included in the court tribute in the Qing Dynasty. Simao Hall of Pu'er Prefecture in Yunnan purchased it from the six major tea mountains every year with a regular amount of silver. Among the six ancient tea mountains in Yunnan, Yiwu became famous the latest. During the Yongzheng period, the "tea permit" system was established, and tea merchants flocked to Yiwu. Tribute tea gradually became dominated by Yiwu tea mountain. During the Qianlong period, immigrants settled in the border areas. Tens of thousands of people from Shiping moved to Yiwu, many of whom made tea their business. Shiping people also set up a public office to "recruit all unemployed people from the same hometown to Yiwu, provide capital, and reduce their tea rent." "Yiwu Zhengshan" rose accordingly.
