Each year, Rosanne Hoffman sets an ambitious goal for the annual online auction, and each year that goal has been surpassed thanks to the generous support of bidders in the community and beyond. Led entirely by volunteers, the fifth annual online auction once again raises funds for local health care, including the purchase of a new defibrillator for St. Francis Memorial Hospital. They are lifesaving devices that are used in emergency situations to correct an irregular heartbeat in a patient.
Hoffman has spent the past four months talking to individuals and business owners and inspiring donations for the online auction. As in the past, Hoffman has secured an incredible range of items that everyone is encouraged to bid on.
Some of the hot items include outdoor movie night, various types of artwork from local artisans, paddle board, money, gift cards and gift baskets, quilts, iPad , Deerhurst and Wolf Ridge golf packages, adjustable king bed and so on. much more.
Hoffman said she wasn’t doing it for the accolades; rather, she wants to help secure the future of local health care in her community. Like many in the area, she has used the hospital emergency department countless times for herself and her family. More recently, Hoffman and his family were able to visit their mother Doris Hudder during her final days in hospital.
“We are incredibly lucky to have a hospital close to home. It’s so important that we do what we can to support it. said Hoffmann. “However, we couldn’t do this without the support of the many companies and individuals who give so generously to the cause. The support from everyone – corporate and individual donors – continues to amaze me.
In conjunction with the Friends of St. Francis Charity Golf Tournament, the online auction features over 80 items to bid on. There is something for every budget. Hoffman hopes everyone tunes in and supports the cause.
The auction is now live online and bids are being accepted until Friday, September 2 at 5 p.m. – when the Friends of St. Francis Charity Golf Tournament culminates at the Homestead in Wolf Ridge.
