LUBBOCK, Texas – CASA of the South Plains announces the return of its annual IMPACT! Event. Historically a lunch, this fall the CASA’S IMPACT! the celebration will be a Gala and online auction. The gala will take place on Thursday, October 21 at 6:00 p.m. at the Willows Event Center, and the online auction will be auctioned off the previous week, October 15.
Guests will have a unique opportunity to hear powerful and impactful stories from a volunteer CASA advocate as they share their experiences of advocating for a foster child and how that child’s life has been changed forever. The evening features dinner and live music, an online auction, and the Todd Monroe Reno Champion for Children award.
“Today, approximately 1,400 foster children in our area are in desperate need of someone to advocate for their best interests,” said Jaclyn Morris, Executive Director of CASA. “The Impact! The Gala is the perfect opportunity for the people of the Southern Plains to help give a child in our community the gift of a HOME, the gift of hope.
CASA faces constant challenges as the Southern Plains region is consistently ranked as a region with a very high rate of child abuse and neglect per capita. Current resources support services for approximately 43% of children in the region in the foster care system. This means that more than half of the children in the community need a volunteer CASA advocate. Proceeds from the IMPACT Gala and the online auction will help ensure that CASA’s invaluable services continue through 2022.
Table tickets and sponsorships are on sale now and can be purchased at www.casaofthesouthplains.org or by contacting Stacy Kelley, Marketing & Development Director, at [email protected] or call (806) 763-2272.
