CISC Hosts Third Annual Silent Auction and Reception Fundraiser

The Cochrane Immigrant Services Committee (CISC) is once again hosting a Virtual Silent Auction this year and as CISC Board Member Jaya Dixit explains that the week-long event kicks off with an evening aperitif.

“It all starts on March 9 with a fundraiser for lunch boxes,” explains Dixit. “It is possible to contact us and register in advance and the idea is to raise funds for the activities, programs and supports that the Cochrane Immigrant Services Committee offers to people who are new to our community. “

This year’s event is being held in partnership with the Chinese Wok, and according to Dixit, the appetizer boxes are generously sized with a very good price tag.

“It’s called Taste Delights and Raise Goodness,” says Dixit. “Each box is $20 and there is a selection of Chinese Wok items. It’s a pretty generous box, it’s meant to feed two people but I think it could potentially stretch a bit further.

Those who purchase an appetizer box will also get a preview of the auction items.

“We have a number of items generously donated by community businesses and community members,” says Dixit. “There are hampers made up of local produce and the Boys & Girls Club of Cochrane generously donated a week of camp.”

You can place your appetizer orders now through March 9 by phone at: (403) 702-5675 or by email at [email protected]

Chinese combo boxes can be picked up between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. on March 9 at the Chinese Wok located at 22 Westside Drive.

Dixit says the auction is open to everyone and the auction link will go live on the Cochrane Newcomers Facebook page as well as Instagram at 7 p.m. sharp.

The Taste Delights and Raise Goodness fundraiser ends March 16.
