Volya, or “freedom” in English, is a silent auction and cultural exhibit aimed at raising awareness and helping the people of Ukraine through a collaboration with an Austin-based Ukrainian coalition. The event consists of two parts: a silent auction inside the gallery featuring more than 50 artists from Texas and beyond, and an exhibition on Ukrainian culture featuring clothing, textiles, art, protest posters, jewelry and other traditional Ukrainian cultural items in the gallery and its surroundings. lands. The exhibition will be activated by arts and crafts activities led by Ukrainian artists.

Austin-based Ukrainian artists will lead pysanky (traditional egg painting) and motanky (traditional doll making) workshops for visitors of all ages. The silent auction will feature over 50 artists and bidding will take place online from May 11 at 12 p.m. (CST) through May 14 at 9 p.m. (CST). A portion of the proceeds from the event will be donated to Voices of Children and Revived Soldiers Ukraine.
