The most important lot in the sale is lot 1885 – A very rare and important “imperial green” jadeite and diamond parure. The adornment consists of a necklace, a pair of earrings and a ring. The 18 karat white gold necklace with a length of 42 cm is set with ten oval cabochons of very translucent jadite in an intense emerald green color, weighing 176.93 carats in total and adorned with brilliant cut diamonds set between the emeralds.

The pair of hinged back earrings are each set with an oval cabochon jadeite measuring approximately 17.95 x 15.51 x 5.75 mm and 17.66 x 15.52 x 5.30 mm.

The 6½ size ring is set with an oval jadeite cabochon with approximate dimensions of 20.05 x 18.45 x 6.45mm. The total weight of the three oval jadeite cabochons set on the pair of earrings and the ring is approximately 54.77 carats.

Three certificates from the Hong Kong Jade and Stone Laboratory bearing the numbers SJ 207235, SJ 207236 and SJ 207237, all dated December 10, 2021, indicate that the jadeite tested is naturally known in commerce as “A jadeite” .

Three Gubelin Gem Lab reports also accompanying the lot, numbered 22031156, 22031157/1 and 2 and 2203119, all dated March 23, 2022, each stating that the jadeites show no indication of treatment, known as type A commercially and all jadeites possess a deep emerald green color, the most sought after and known as “imperial green” in the trade.

GIA Report No. 2221300669 of 25and February 2022, indicates the diamond is fancy vivid purplish pink, natural color and VS2 clarity. The diamond type classification letter accompanying the report indicates that the diamond is determined to be Type IIa.

All 92 lots from this sale will be offered live during the first part of the Magnificent Jewels auction on April 29, 2022, which will take place after the stand-alone De Beers Cullinan Blue sale on April 27.
