Jordyn Huitema of Chilliwack donates jersey for silent auction in celebration of red, white and gold

Auction proceeds will go to the Chilliwack FC Soccer Fund for Underprivileged Families

Those who attend the Red, White and Gold celebration in honor of Chilliwack football star Jordyn Huitema on Wednesday night (August 11) will have the chance to take home a piece of history.

The 20-year-old forward from Canada’s National Women’s Team donated one of her Tokyo Olympics jerseys to a silent auction.

Proceeds will go to the Chilliwack FC Soccer Fund. According to the Chilliwack FC website, the Soccer Fund “provides financial assistance to players and their families who wish to participate in Chilliwack FC but find themselves financially disadvantaged.”

“Chilliwack FC are always very grateful to Jordyn for her generosity to the club, always taking time for us when she is home and now generously donating a piece of Canadian soccer history to help our fund. Chilliwack FC soccer team to grow so that we can continue to help disadvantaged families. in Chilliwack, play the beautiful game, ”said Andrea Laycock, President of Chilliwack FC. “If you search the dictionary for the hero of his hometown, you will find his photo next to it. The starting bid for the jersey will be $ 150.

The celebration of red, white and gold begins at the fairgrounds at 6 p.m. and the jersey auction ends at 8:30 p.m.

Huitema and the national team won Canada’s first-ever gold in women’s soccer last Friday (August 6) with a 1-0 penalty shootout victory over Sweden.
