Levity Players Group to integrate live auction into murder mystery dinner at North Star Steakhouse

Back for their summer production, the Levity Players Group returns to the North Star Steakhouse, 1110 NW 25th, for their final Murder Mystery Dinner this month.

The show, “Murder at the Art Auction or Going Once, Going Twice, Gone!” starts at 5 p.m. on Sunday, August 20 at the steakhouse. The story follows Susana Cravath of the Smotherby Bark Jeanette Art Auction House as she auctions the contemporary paintings of Peter Min and other artists. But unfortunately, one of the artists does not live long enough to see the end of the auction.

A twist to this performance, included in the dinner theater, the show features a real auction, so guests can prepare to bid.

“’Auction’ is a brand new show. Laugh and eat, then repeat,” Levity Players Group producer Greg Marino said in a press release. “Come and cool off during the scorching days of summer with a great show and the delicious food offered by North Star Steakhouse.”

The show includes a three-course steakhouse dinner featuring house salad, choice of KC Band entree, extraordinary fried shrimp or sizzling 3S (super-size) chicken; all served with the famous fries and North Star sauce. Homemade New York-style cheesecake is also offered for dessert, along with free soft drinks and coffee.

Tickets are $40, to make reservations call (785) 354-8880.
