It takes quite an effort to move the group of 150 members of Lake Highlands High School between football games, community concerts and competitions. On September 16, you’ll have the opportunity to support the group (and have a little fun) at their first-ever pre-game dinner and silent auction.
Dinner will take place from 5-6:30 p.m. inside the LHHS HUB, and $15 tickets include a plate of brisket with garnishes and a drink. A kids’ plate of hot dogs with fries and a drink is $5. Tickets can be purchased online here, and the online auction will go live on September 16. After dinner and the auction, attendees are encouraged to head to Wildcat Stadium to watch the Wildcats beat the Jesuits.
Group director Reagan Brumley has worked hard to recruit students to participate in the group, even as they struggle to afford the accompanying fees, tuition, and equipment. Your support at this event will make their continued participation possible.
Personal note: LHHS attracts some of the most talented music teachers in Texas, including an incredible French horn teacher who got married over Labor Day weekend. That’s right – Miss Rachelle Huffman is now Mrs. Will Toler and part of this writer’s proud family. The Illinois native met the lucky groom in Dallas after being recruited by SMU to pursue her Masters in Music on a full scholarship. Be sure to meet the new Mrs. Toler and all of LH’s dedicated music teachers when you get the chance.
