Introducing RDMBA’s Vesta Energy Challenger Baseball Program
Challenger Baseball is an adaptive baseball program that provides children and youth with physical and/or cognitive disabilities the opportunity to experience the full benefits of participating in organized baseball at a level structured according to their abilities.
Challenger Baseball games are played for fun, in a safe environment, where scoring simply isn’t done. Challenger participants are assigned valid “baseball buddies” (one-on-one) to help them with their involvement in the game. Pushing wheelchairs around the base path, running alongside an uncertain player, assisting players batting or even executing a great swing are just a few of the ways our friends enhance the baseball experience for our Challenger participants. Defensively, our buddies protect participants from a hit or miss ball, ensuring they are safe and have a great night at the ballpark!
Each participant is dressed in a uniform shirt and receives a photo to commemorate the wonderful memories and good friends they have made this season!
Challenger Baseball takes place on Monday evenings (weather dependent) starting June 6and – July 25and (6:00 p.m. – 7:15 p.m.) at Great Chief Park. The parent/guardian/guardian must remain at the diamond for the entire evening.
Players between the ages of 6 and 18 (male and female) are encouraged to register. Registration will remain open from April 1.st – April 30and. Limited places available. REGISTER HERE!
There is no cost to participate in our Challenger program, this is due to the generous sponsorship of Vesta Energy!
