The auction has been going on for two years, and auction chairman Jan Miller is encouraging everyone to tune in when the auction opens on October 24.
“We have over 150 items available and while many items are ‘one of a kind’ we have them at great ‘Buy Now’ prices,” Miller said. “We want as many items as possible to be closed during the online portion of the auction.
Miller acknowledged that Sandi Wolf, Aileen Weyer and Jamie Wolf were great partners, as well as a great auction committee, in soliciting unique experiences for the auction. She also paid tribute to Lori Roggen and Ellen Schaffer, who helped kick off the auction efforts in 2020, before COVID postponed that year’s auction.
Online shopping will bring in significant revenue to support the life-changing services of JFS Houston, which serves people of all faiths and backgrounds.
The online auction includes vacation spas in Austin, hotels in other states (including Dakota Shy Winery in California) and an exclusive private home in Round Top, Texas. Food and wine experiences include Houston’s best-known restaurants and private chefs providing culinary entertainment. Sports packages include seats behind the plate or at the 50 yard line, and jewelry and gift certificates will be perfect for the next vacation.
There are many opportunities to use the Buy Now feature of the auction for all kinds of items and services. For those who wish, there are opportunities to donate to support events throughout the year at Celebration Company, JFS’s employment program for adults with disabilities.
Once a year, JFS Houston hosts its JFS Live! unrestricted fundraising event and auction to support counseling, employment and senior services. This year’s life changing auction is a way for more people to participate.
