Silent auction organized for Operation Spay & Neutral Canada

Operation Spay & Neutral (OSN) Canada is hosting an online silent auction to help raise funds for the local cat rescue organization.

The auction, which began on November 27, continues until Saturday December 11 on the group’s Facebook page. A variety of items are offered, including pet items, artwork, and general items.

“We received a few unexpected vet bills,” said OSN Canada founder and owner Pat Bracelin of the need for funds to support the group’s work.

Located in Hawkesbury, Operation Spay & Neutral’s mission is to reduce the number of abandoned, homeless and feral cats forced into the streets. The organization has been busier than ever in 2021.

“There are more cats that are thrown out,” Bracelin observed. “People were locked inside, adopting like crazy and now the rescues are overwhelmed.”

OSN recently organized a “sterilization day” in which 13 cats were cared for. The organization also has two cats currently available for adoption – Jackson and Teddy – who are a related couple and will need to be adopted together.
