Tiger Group’s online auction features a wide variety of equipment from Pacific theaters


LOS ANGELES, February 8, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Tiger Group is liquidating equipment from famed movie theater chain Pacific Theaters, which operated movie theaters across United States before filing for Chapter 7 bankruptcy following the COVID-19 lockdowns.

Bidding in Timed Online Auctions opens on tuesday 15 februaryat 10:30 a.m. and closes on tuesday february 22at 10:30 a.m. (PT).

“Tiger is delighted to have been chosen to sell the assets of a leading cinema chain that has entertained hundreds of thousands of moviegoers for the past 75 years,” said jonathan vacation, Director of Business Development, Tiger Commercial & Industrial. “It’s not often that this type of AV equipment and other equipment becomes available on the market.”

The sale comes at a time when surviving movie chains are seeing an increase in traffic, sales and optimism, Holiday added. “While the pandemic had affected cinemas around the world, they are back with surging attendance,” he said. “Whether you own theaters, produce live events, or run a rental business, this equipment is ready to go.”

Assets include:

  • Recent laser and digital cinema projectors

  • Built-in media blocks
  • Cinema servers
  • Monitors and processors
  • theater popcorn machines
  • Speakers
  • Point of sale systems

The sale includes a 2019 Samsung LED display with audio components. “This is one of only two LED screens of this type installed in United States“, noted Holiday. “The original purchase price was $700,000.”

Items to be tendered include new and ready-to-use equipment, such as a Christie Solaria series projector; NEC and Osram arc lamps; Touch dynamic POS systems; JBL speakers, Doremi Fidelio wireless audio receivers, and more.

For the convenience of buyers, the assets have been moved to a third-party storage location at City of Industry, Californiaas well as similar facilities in Quincy and Everett, MA.
