United Way of Lamar County Hosts Online Silent Auction to Reach Campaign Goal of $ 550,000

Hoping to meet its fall campaign goal, the Lamar County United Way is running an online silent auction throughout this week at Charityauction.bid/UnitedWayLamarCounty.

Auctions begin Wednesday, September 15 at 12 p.m. and end Thursday, September 16 at 9 p.m. More than 70 articles have been donated by local businesses and individuals to help Centraide reach its annual campaign goal.

“We are very grateful to everyone who donated items to this year’s online auction,” said UWLC Executive Director Jenny Wilson. “We have some really amazing items to bid on including Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers tickets, steak dinners, crayfish boil, event rental from the safe, a stay for two nights in a historic downtown loft, hand painted and personalized items, gift certificates from local restaurants, baskets from local retailers, golf packages and much more! ”

“I especially want to thank the auction committee who solicited all of these donations, including Brenda Wells, Melissa Gordon, Monica Clement and Lindsey Severson,” Wilson added. “We couldn’t have set this up without their help, and now we need everyone to register on the site and place their auctions this Wednesday and Thursday!
