Winter Ball and online auction to raise vital funds for the Friends of the Cancer Center


This Saturday, November 12, the Friends of the Cancer Center will host a sparkling Winter Ball at Titanic Belfast to mark 37 years of supporting cancer patients and their families across Northern Ireland.
To mark the charity’s landmark year, 400 guests will join in the celebrations and enjoy a fabulous evening, while supporting the charity’s vital work which makes a real and meaningful difference for patients with Alzheimer’s disease. cancer patients and their families across Northern Ireland.
The Friends of the Cancer Center are hoping to raise more than £75,000 at the Winter Ball, which could help the charity provide 3,000 hours of nursing care for its vital nurses.

To help achieve their goal, guests will be treated to an evening full of entertainment which will include live performances by the Belfast Operatic Company and the Manouche Boys, as well as a raffle, silent auction and of course, the sale exclusive live auction. With support from Wilsons Auctions, the live auction will be streamed online and open to people at home.
Eleven exclusive lots will be auctioned live at 10 p.m. on Saturday November 12 with a getaway to a luxurious Tuscan villa,
a five star cruise and 9k white gold pendant necklace plus an exclusive private dining experience with local chef, Suzie Lee.

For the avid musician or collector there is a harmonica signed by Sir Van Morrison and a ‘Diamond Hanlon Stratocaster’ guitar custom made by the late Ronnie Hanlon.

Looking forward to the evening, Colleen Shaw, executive director of Friends of the Cancer Centre, said: ‘The Winter Ball should be the charity’s highlight of the year as it is the opportunity to bring together a host of wonderful supporters and raise vital funds that will continue to make a big difference in the lives of people here in Northern Ireland.
“It is also an opportunity for us to say thank you to so many local people and businesses for their support, especially over the past few years.

For 37 years, Friends of the Cancer Center has been dedicated to making a real and meaningful difference for cancer patients and their families in Northern Ireland.
The charity works to improve the quality of patient care and support through its life-changing and life-saving work, which includes funding additional nurses, supporting local research and providing medical supplies. ‘practical support, such as financial grants, that can help patients get through a difficult time.
